Walks - Saturday Dec. 7 - Wednesday Dec. 11

Refreshments at Tim's

Eileen has spoken:
Pull out your reindeer antlers, elf hats, Santa touques or flashing headbands.  Bring your accessories this Saturday December 7th for a group photo after your walk. She has a few Santa hats if you can’t find yours so no need to feel left out 😊. She's doing the photo early this year to catch as many people as possible before they go away.  Unfortunately she'll have to find someone who can photoshop Margy and Reiner into the photo as they will be off to their winter retreat down south.

Join us at Tim's at 8:00 am on Saturday for a walk with friends who will be wearing their finery. Bob and Helen need to walk 12 km on Saturday in order to complete the virtual walk that they entered. Anyone interested in joining them? They'd love the company.

During the week, some folks walk Monday and Wednesday mornings (8:00 am ish) - check the blog comment section for details (which tend to evolve each week). Others walk Wednesday morning at 9:00 am, meeting at Tim's. Charlotte sends the confirming email. Lots of options so join in.

Announcements and Information:
Sadly, Bob's dad died earlier this week - not entirely unexpectedly but suddenly. Bob returned to Quebec to manage the details. Our thoughts are with you and your family, Bob. Bob expects to return later on Friday. There may be more information from Bob & Helen in the days ahead...

Tannenbaum Racers - Kim, David and Norma were going to do the Tannenbaum 10K last Sunday but high winds and freezing ice pellets made for treacherous and unpleasant conditions. You know who was especially a reluctant starter. David crossed the start line just to say he did. Instead, they had a lovely breakfast at the Beacher Cafe.

Dome at Monarch Park - According to Helen, the track at the Dome is open and free for seniors on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, between 8 - 10 am. She checked it out and they didn't ask for ID. So some of us can be legit and others can be “very youthful” seniors. For those who haven’t been there, they have lockers for outerwear. Or you can stash your stuff on the floor in the main dome. Was rather slippery, according to Jan. Price is right! Might be an option used with caution.

Whose under there?

Sorry if I was unclear - what I meant is it was slippery outside so the dome is a good alternative. We cut our outdoor walk short outside on Tuesday because it was slippery. Sorry for the confusion!!!

Hi Everyone, I likely won't be out tomorrow morning, as it's my last training day at the Toronto Zoo; have fun, and see you soon!

Anyone wanting an extra-long walk can join Bob and I as we do our 12Ks of Christmas, starting at 8 am on Saturday. You'll recognize us by our ugly Christmas sweather t-shirts.

I'll be out - still trying to work off holiday eating and drinking!

Has anyone been down to the Boardwalk? Just wondering how slippery it is - we may have to stick to major routes tomorrow.

Wish I could be there to see this ugly sweater t-shirt of Helen's. Someone make a funny face in the photos for me please! Safe walking tomorrow everyone.

Please photoshop me into the picture too! I won't be out this Saturday and am away next weekend. Hope to be out once more before Christmas.

I propose that we walk tomorrow (Monday) at 8 am at the Monarch Park Dome. Yes, Leverne, I mean the Monarch Park Dome.

Going to skip Monday - not interested in the dome - will wait to see if the rain stops long enough for a walk during the day.

I'll be there.

Anyone up for walking tomorrow (Wednesday) at 8 am at the Dome?

Helen said...

I’m game for the dome. I think the melt from the last couple of days might freeze into a slippery surface outdoors.

Lynne said...

I can do a walk at the dome tomorrow.
