Walks - Saturday March 16 - Wednesday March 20

Bring on the sunshine

Join us on Saturday, at Tim's, at 8:00 am, and please, bring spring with you. The distance can be negotiated.....short or long or longer, whatever suits you best. No more ice; no more snow; finally, it is time for us to move.

Other options:
Sunday morning at 8:30 am at the Running Room on Queen Street - join in.
Monday (Loblaws) and Wednesday (Occasions) evenings at 6:30 pm - weather permitting.
Wednesday mornings at 9:00 am at Tim's - usually Charlotte sends a confirming email to the regulars in this group. Let her know if you want to be added to the list.

Announcements/Information:  from Libby - The race interest list is gaining in size, slowly but surely!. The Summer Solstice race June 21 has a few takers and they would love more company!!
April is around the corner with Race Roster, Angus Glen and the Uxbridge Trail Race at Wooden Sticks Golf Course.. Any Interest??
Libby is still waiting for someone to sign in for a Half Marathon..or even a BIG Marathon (Stacey???).  Come on, Stacey - you teased us - let's hear your plan....and is the invitation open to join you???? Tempt us!

from Rainer: Margy and I are scheduled to do a race in Dunedin (just north of Clearwater) a typical Florida fun race that becomes a party post race .... since it is sponsored by a micro brewery.... should be fun .... and a lot warmer than Toronto. Our real test will come next Saturday as we are entered into the Seminole Stampede race (again a short 5km) but it has a walk division and last year they had some very tough PowerWalkers and also Race Walkers. We hope to do well and I promise to wear my ShoreThing T shirt.  Not sure if this race has beer post race....

from Susan:  Spring break is coming to an end - hope it was a good one for those who enjoyed a week off from their regular work. To those travelling, enjoy, be safe and bring back stories to tell. To those who are ill, injured or recovering, we send along our best wishes to you. I have asked Helen to do the blog for the next few weeks, again - my thanks to her - she always says "yes" and jumps back in.

I may join you for coffee in the morning - won't be walking - family coming for a visit so even coffee is tentative.

In response to Lou Ann's comment above, I am taking a health related leave of activity for a few weeks. Back on the trails soon.

As above.

Anyone thinking of walking tonight? I could use the exercise if it's not too cold.

Bob's helping Lucy pick up a kiln tonight at 5, so might not be home by walk time. I'll check in later to confirm whether I'll walk with the group or wait for him to return.
