Walk - Saturday April 14 - Wednesday April 18

Sticks out for Humboldt Broncos

Just join us on Saturday at 8:00 am at Tim's - I know, I know, ..... the weather - but come out anyway and enjoy a short (wet and icy) walk and a long visit with friends. Those who are training would love some company on their walks - considering joining them.
Niagara folks need to do 12 km followed by 10 km and 8 kms during the week.
Norway folks and hikers need to do 14 km with hills and will be leaving Tim's at 7:30 am. During the week, 8 km and 10 km are required.

Sunday walkers meet at the Running Room on Queen St. at 8:30 am.
Mid week day time walkers usually meet Wednesdays at  9:00 am at Tim's - Charlotte usually sends a confirming email.
Mid week evening walkers meet on Monday (Loblaws) and Wednesday (Occasions) at 6:30 pm. We'd love more folks out for the mid week walks - sign the blog to let others know your plans.

I haven't heard how Arlene and Elaine did in last week's 10 mile race - I suspect they did well. The hikers encountered snow and ice on the trails along with lots of challenging hills...quite the adventure.

Any race interests?  Sporting Life is always a fun event - just a month away. Consider joining in.  I also heard some chatter about the Halifax race (pirates everywhere). I understand a few have signed up - the more the merrier.

Looking forward to seeing you Saturday.

I will not be walking from Tims tomorrow morning.

Sometimes in Toronto the predicted weathermageddon passes us by. I’ll check in tomorrow.

Lovely photos, Susan. I won't be out Saturday morning, as we have an opening night tonight and I'll be working quite late. Safe walking to everyone who heads out!

Arlene and I plan to walk 14 K from Tim's at 7:30. rain is highly likely and we are hopeful the ice stays away until we finish. Ruth and Susan may join us. hope to see some of you for coffee!

I plan to be walking (and singing) in the rain with Libby, Ruth, & Arlene unless sanity comes my way between now and then.

I looked at the forecast earlier today and it said rain would start at 10am tomorrow and winds not bad - now I look at it and the rain is continuous from now until Monday afternoon! Yuck. And cold. And windy.

I will decide in the morning - if it is freezing rain I am not going - not risking falling.

I too will decide in the morning. Don't mind a light rain, do mind freezing rain. Perhaps won't do the full 12k if miserable.

If we do go out in the morning I suggest we try the up-and-down route between Dundas and Queen so we can scoot back quickly if the weather gets too crazy. To do 12k we have to go up and down each street up to and including Carlaw and back the same way. For 8K up and down to Carlaw, then straight back along Queen then Leslie, 6K up and down to Pape, then straight back along Queen and Leslie.

Or stay in Tim's and drink coffee....

I also will not be out tomorrow. Way too iffy! And my bones are way too fragile!!

I will not be out tomorrow. I still have coughs and sniffles so it is better to stay home and keep warm.

Anybody interested in walking the Path tomorrow instead?

Get well Eva!

I see I'm already committed to 14K - barring ice. Looking forward to coffee afterwards.

I'll check in on the morning - Jan if the weather is iffy, I'll do the path

Bob will be helping Lucy lay flooring, but I’d be interested in doing the Path. I’d need to hitch a ride, though — if it’s safe to drive!

What is the consensus for this morning?

Call us chickens but Helen, Leverne, and I are going to walk the Path. We'll park at City Hall and meet in the concourse of the Sheraton Centre if anyone wants to join us.

Probably a good move. Ok I'll stay close to home. Probably go up to the track tomorrow if driving conditions OK.

Given the state of the weather (rain continuing all day) and the state of the sidewalks and roads I think my activity today will be snow shovelling not walking.
I'll write in later if I change my mind.

Susan said...

I, too, will be shovelling today, some of it snow! What else is new...

I won't be out tonight - have a movie booked this afternoon and won't be back in time to walk.

Helen said...

Shovelling ice, is more like it. No, Bob and I won't be walking tonight, either.

need I even say I won't be out?

Anyone walking tonight? I am hoping to have company at Occasions at 6:30.

I won't be out again tonight - Board meeting downtown. If it's not too late and i'm not too tired and it's not raining I may walk home

don't look for me susan, I'm not coming

Going to walk from home - 5:00 pm now and no one as confirmed that they will be out tonight.

See you Saturday.

Bob's still laying floors for Lucy, and I don't expect to have him back till after 6:30. If we walk, we'll go from home. Sorry. It has been a bit of a crazy week.
