Walks - Saturday Sept. 16 - Wednesday Sept. 20

Loving the long lazy summer days

Join us Saturday at Tim's at 8:00 am for a distance of your choosing - getting out is good; going further than you planned is better.

Those training:
1. Scotia half- 16K is on the schedule for this weekend with 10 and 8 during the week.
2. NYC - Susan and Libby will attempt 34 km or a long distance - whichever comes sooner - on Saturday.

Some folks walk Sunday morning from the Running Room at 8:30 am.

Mid week walks are Monday evenings at Loblaws (7:00 pm) and Wednesday at Occasions (6:30 pm)

Best of luck to the Good Times in the Maritimes racers this weekend. Enjoy all that Halifax has to offer along with the race!

Reminder- Rainer's favorite Cavan "butter tart" race is next weekend...let Libby know if you have registered or are interested. The Shore Things often support this fun local race.

And, lastly, we hope that our Camino walkers are doing well - Kim, Ruth and Jan - enjoy.

Won't be joining you on Saturday but hope to be back in action on Monday & Wednesday (was missing in action this week).

Have a good weekend wherever you are.

I won't be walking Saturday, as I have an out-of-town event to go to. Happy walking everyone; looks like a glorious weekend!

We're back and ready to "walk and roll"! See you Saturday for 16K. Does anyone at this distance want to start a bit earlier?

I am interested in an earlier start for the 16km on Saturday. It would be good not to out when the humidity hits higher numbers! I am fine with 7 or 7:30am. I will look out for posts.

See you in the morning!

Barbara and friends, I would be fine with a 7 am start -- but am okay with a compromise, too.

I'm not sure if I will make Saturday morning for a short walk, but I will be at Brickworks on Sunday morning 8:30 to do the 16k.

Could I propose a 7.30 start for the 16k?

Hi all,
I've been laid up for a few weeks with an injured arm which was healing quite nicely and then out of the blue and bout of vertigo which I'm not completely over. Because it's usually worse in the morning I'll have to miss another Saturday. Hope to be back in good form soon.
Enjoy your walk,
Sheila

I'd be fine with a 7:30 start, Lynne. Anything that gets us going a bit earlier.

Sheila, I hope you're feeling better soon. I hate vertigo!!

I will be out for 7:30. I was going to say good but I am not sure I can feel good about 16km!
Get well Sheila, see you soon

I will be out at 8 for a shorter distance. Sharon will be out too.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Sheila.

Just in case anyone wants to do another 16k, leaving from the Brickworks at 8am Sunday morning. Let me know if I should look for you.

Greetings all! We did our 16k today - in fact we did 20 - and got some hill training in. Downhills are as bad as the up- easier on the breathing and heart rate but hard on the knees and ankles. Off to Sarria tomorrow!
Sheila hope you are soon on the mend.

Anyone walking Monday?

I have had a headache all day so I am not going to walk tonight.
Lynne

Sorry to hear that, Lynne. Bob's feeling under the weather tonight, too. So in hopes that he'll feel better tomorrow, we're going to walk in the morning.

Susan said...

Hope everyone is feeling better.

I'm going to assume no one else is signing in......for tonight.....so perhaps we'll see you Wednesday?

Hey Susan, if you want to walk I'm game
Leverne

Ok - great, Leverne - see you at 7:00

Bob and I will be at Occasions for 6:30, but be warned that Bob is recovering from a cold and isn't up to doing any great distance. Hope to see some of you there.

I did hills this morning, early, trying to avoid the heat & humidity so will pass tonight.

Please welcome Maria if she joins you tonight - she walked with Leverne & me on Monday night and I hope she'll return.

Hope you are feeling better soon, Bob.

I'll be out tonight, do you want me to pick you up Helen and bob?

The last post is Leverne

Helen said...

That would be great, thanks, Leverne. See you 6:20-ish?
