Walks - Saturday Aug. 6 - Wednesday Aug. 10

Distillery District

Join us on Saturday at Tim's. I suggest a 7:00 am start for those training for Montreal and/or Scotiabank. The distance for Saturday is 12 kms for both groups.

For others (and I hope there are "others" out there), you could meet at 7:30 am just to try and avoid the heat.  Plus, we'll likely meet up for coffee afterwards.

Mid week distances are also the same for both groups - 8 km and 6 km.
Monday night from Loblaws at 7:00 pm; Wednesday night from Occasions at 7:00 pm.
Additionally, some meet Sunday morning, at 8:30 am, at the Running Room on Queen St.

Join in for some or all of the above - love to see you.

Some are vacationing - enjoy and keep safe; some are recovering from toe surgery - our best wishes, Sharon; some are recovering from injuries or other surgeries - best wishes for a full and speedy recovery; some are visiting and enjoying grandchildren, grand-babies, and visits with relatives dear to them; some are celebrating (recent) weddings - Our best wishes to everyone.

That said, if you are in Toronto, come out and walk. Sign in so others know your plans.

I won't be there, I took a fall down concrete stairs yesterday morning and can't walk. Hopefully just a sprain on my right ankle, I am so grateful because it could have been a lot worse, I will miss you guys, you were the highlight of my week! Tania

I'll be out at 7 am for 12 km - will see some of you then.

Sorry to hear about your fall, Tania - I hope there is nothing broken and that you'll soon be up and about again.

I'll be out tomorrow at 7 for 12. I'll be away next week though so I'll miss Monday and Wednesday - I'll likely be cycling instead if we can find a bike rack for the car.

I'll be out too, at 7 for 12.

I'll second Susan's wishes for a quick recovery, Tania.

Thanks guys, sadly I found out I have a broken ankle and have a temporary cast and on bed rest so this is going to take longer than I thought It is my right foot and hence can't drive otherwise I would join you for your "après" coffee. I am still hoping to see you on the 20th for a few hours before my other dinner, I will have to see how mobile I am by then. My first injury in my life so I have a full appreciation for my feet now. Hopefully it doesn't require surgery which I will know on Monday. Have a great walk, I will be there in spirit!

Tania, That's crappy! I remember breaking my ankle -- even getting yourself a cup of tea can be a hassle. Hope you have an easy break and it heals quickly. Take care!

I have a presentation to prepare for on Tuesday night, so I won't make it out on Monday.

Wednesday, because of the weather warning, I'd love to walk early in the day rather than the evening, if anyone is available. Let me know.

I won't be out tonight, have free tickets to a movie. Wednesday I would love to do the morning walk/swim if possible,

I don't want to walk on Monday night - I need to do a trip to Ikea and I don't have time to do both. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Wednesday - I have grandson so walking with him in the stroller doesn't always work well. Walking late in the day doesn't sound appealing either but.....

Anyone walking tonight?

Okay, I'm going for a nap.

Wednesday - this heat is too much for me - so my question is this - is anyone interested in walking tonight and if so, would you be willing to go at 8:00 pm, or even 7:30 pm with the hope that it will be a bit cooler? I'm just asking to see if there is any interest at all....

or I suppose plan b could be to go on Thursday evening (although I think it will also be hot).

Any comments?
Susan

Susan, as I posted on Monday, Bob and I walked this morning. Thursday and Friday are expected to be just as bad, if not worse.

I need to train, but it's just too hot.
