I'll be walking at the Kid's cottage and swim in Lake Muskoka.
Have a great long weekend!
Val
I may join you for coffee at Tim's on Saturday morning and with luck, will join you for a walk from Tim's 2 on Monday.
Great pictures and congrats to another retiree who will soon be taking off to do the Camino. Best of luck to Stacey and Peggy.
I'll be starting at 7am (yawn!) with Trish, Eva and Cheryl; hope to see you all after for coffee!
Congratulations, Stacey. I do wish those of you who are retired would stop looking so happy around those of us who are still working!
I won't be out on Saturday, but I'll show up at Tim's 2 at 8:00 on Monday - hopefully it will be cooler by then!
This Sunday is the second Open Streets Toronto day. Bloor will be closed from Christie to Parliament, and Yonge will be closed from Bloor to Queen, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Ruth
I will be walking Monday from Tim's 2 and will walk Wednesday from Occasions if there are others,
Thanks
Sylvia
Congratulations to Stacey! I do agree with Ruth though; you retired people look way too happy! ;-)
Thanks for the good wishes! "I'm forever blowing bubbles; pretty bubbles in the air!" There is a tune that goes along with that, though I can't remember who sang it - Don Ho?! Anyway, I don't think I will be out to walk before we leave for Spain, so see you all in December! Have a great fall, and good luck to all of the Corning, Scotia, New Albany and Niagara racers!
Congrats Stacey, enjoy your travels. I will not be around this weekend for Saturday or Monday, so have fun. See you on Wednesday.
Leverne
I'll be at Tim's at 7:30 on Saturday - celebrating a long weekend.
And, I expect to be at Tim's 2 on Monday.
And, I likely could be talked into Open Streets but not an earlier start.
Susan
Trish, Eva, Olwyn and Cheryl...If you are doing the 18km march, I'd like to join you.
You worked hard for this particular day, Stacey! The best of luck to you and Peggy on your great adventure.
SKJ
So yes, Trish, Eva, Cheryl, Olwyn and it sounds like Sharon too, will be doing 18k starting at 7:00. Congrats to Stacey! Hope everyone has a fantastic long weekend where ever they end up!
I will not be joining you on Saturday on next week... back to work for me...behooooooooooooooooooooooo! I know I am really dating myself but there was a guy my grandmother use to watch Lawrence Welk and he had bubbles blowing behind the band (I think). Stacey and Peggy, had a wonderful time on your travels...I am so jealous!
For the rest of you, have a wonderful Labour Day weekend!
So for all the misfit keys (spelling)...I find this small keyboard I make mistake (how odd)!!
I will not be able to come Saturday but hope to join the group Monday morning.
Frances
I will be out both Saturday & Monday. Deanna
I will be out Saturday at 7:30 and possibly Monday.
Barb Shand
Bob and I will be out at 7:30 for 12K at Tim's. And probably on Monday morning at Tim's 2. See you then -- and whether we see you or not, have a lovely long weekend.
Tomorrow at 8 am, meeting at Tim's 2...check.
SKJ
Confirming: Monday at Tim's 2, 8 am for 8K -- weather permitting. That said, I'll be wearing my hot weather gear and might even add ice to my water.
I won't be at Tim's 2 in the morning. Have a good walk!
Won't be at Tim's 2 after all - enjoy your walk and the rest of the weekend.
Susan
Tims 2 for a short(ish) walk,
at 8 for 8.

Is the plan to do intervals tonight? Please not on the hills if we are doing them. Where will we meet?
Leverne
Leverne, we talked about doing intervals tonight, using the 30-20-10 technique, especially if it's stinking hot as it has been for the past few days. It would be either hills OR intervals -- not both. Let's continue to meet at Occasions. I think others will be coming out. We were thinking of going up to Monarch Park track.
Here's more or less how it works (from Runner's World, so think "walking" where they write "running."):
Here’s how to do a 30-20-10 workout.
1. Warm up with easy jogging for about a mile. (The studied runners warmed up for just ¾ mile.)
2. Jog for 30 seconds, run normal training pace for 20 seconds, and sprint for 10 seconds. Immediately repeat this cycle four more times, producing one continuous five-minute repeat.
3. Jog for two minutes. Then repeat step 2 two or three more times. (The subjects in the JAP study did 3 x 5-minutes for the first four weeks, and 4 x 5-minutes for the next three weeks.)
4. Cool down with easy jogging for about a mile. (The studied runners apparently did no cooldown, but we always recommend one.)
Count me in - can we use the Monarch track without paying??
See you 2nite at Occasions.
Jan, no fees at Monarch Park till the dome goes up at the end of October, according to their website.
I'm coming.
