Walks - Sat. Jan. 1- Wed. Jan. 14

Now there's a challenging question....

Saturday promises to be a chilly one so dress warmly and join us.
Option 1 - Dawn has offered her house as the starting point, so I suggest that we do a short quick walk (or a long quick walk) and return to her place for breakfast. Let's meet at 8:00 am. Dawn needs to know if you are coming to her place by 9:00 am on Friday. Thanks Dawn for hosting us - we're a hungry bunch!

Option 2 - meet at Tim's if that is your preferred spot at 8:00 am.
Sign the blog to let others know your intended location.

Mid week walks - day timers check in with each other. Evening walkers meet at 7:00 pm - Monday at Loblaws and Wednesday at Shoppers (I think that's the preferred location). Please sign in so others know if you'll be out.

Announcements - from Dawn - TKO's brunch is Feb. 1. The cost is $18 payable to Charlotte, as soon as possible - cheque, please. Thanks for helping, Charlotte with this event.  Join us - promises to be a fun and friendly food festivity.

and, now for the answer....

Unfortunately, I won't be able to join in on Saturday's fun (at least with you guys) as I'll be at an all-day gardening update with the master gardeners. Hope to see you Monday and Wednesday, though.

I did not reply fast enough to Susan, so here is the correction. Please give me $18.00 in cash for the February 1 brunch. There I said it and it may never happen again!

As I said, I will be with Helen so not joining you. Charlotte, I would love to come to brunch on the 1st. I will try to get the money to you in advance, thanks for organizing this for us all.

Charlotte beat me to it. I was going to mention cash for TKO's as I pay them in cash.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at my place tomorrow. We are going to have a good turn out, so think thin or bring winter clothes in case we spill over outside!!! Kidding - I think we will be okay.

Hello all,
Surgery went well and I was home in just over 24 hours. I am encouraged by my doctor to NOT sit around but move around, albeit in a limited way, to promote healing. I am feeling very good and hope to see you at the breakfast, but my walking may be limited to getting from home to Dawn's. What time should I aim to arrive?

I plan to be at Dawn's Saturday morning. Distance to be determined by weather. To lookout is 8k. To Woodbine, Danforth, Coxwell, Oconnor, and Dawn's is about 5k.

Ruth Arlene and I will be in High Park attending Lee's hill training classes on Saturday morning. We aim to join the group at Dawn's around 9:30ish.

Please check race interest list to see I have your names correctly entered. Race training is up to date..for the rest of , commit, sign up etc.!!!

Hi to all my Shorethings friends and thank you for the lovely words/cards of support. It has been a very strange Christmas and New Year, not one I want to repeat! I did not respond in time to Dawn as I was in the air flying back from England, however I am planning on trying to come for the walk and brunch but will likely not eat as I am on Uk time so brunch will already have happened for me! See you in the morning, warmly dressed in many layers,
Lynne

And, one more thought, if people want to go earlier Monday night, put it on the blog.I think I can be home by 5:00 today...so early works for me, if I know. Temperature supposed to drop tonight.

I hope to be out on Monday night. Missing the walking (for one reason or another). My FitBit is chiding me.

Susan and friends, I'd be open to walking earlier than 7 pm, but it would depend on whether or not I could get a ride to Loblaws.

I am working from home today so would be open to walking earlier also

Susan, Let us know when you arrive. Maybe give me or Jan a call?

So the current plan for Eileen, Eva, Cheryl, Cynthia and Trish is to meet at Occasions for 7 and do 6k with 2 hills. Any other takers?
Weather report seems to indicate reasonable weather.

Helen said...

Hoping to walk tonight (Wednesday) and I'd be open to either Occasions or Shoppers for a brisk 6K or so. Shouldn't be very windy. What's your preference?

Helen said...

I should have read the other comments before posting. Occasions for 6 with a mere two hills sounds okay by me.

I may make it....but don't wait for me (even a minute). I'm still in Burlington at 5:00 pm but leaving now.
