Walks - Sat. April 12 - Wed. April 16

Thinking of Sharon & her family this week....
remember: everything is better with coffee at Dawn's

Walking restores us so it is a good thing that we have our walking friends. Come out and join us Saturday. It's good for the sole!

We have two options for Saturday. For a change, let's walk in High Park. Bob has mapped 3 routes - 12, 16, 18 km and he'll bring copies. Meeting spot is at Grenadier Café, 200 Parkside Dr, -restaurant in middle of park. Lots of parking.

Others may want to remain at Tim's for whatever distance suits you.

Whichever your choice, start time is 8 am. Please let others know your plans on the blog.

Training? The distances according to Libby:
Saturday- both Goodlife and K-W have long distances to cover- Goodlife 20K and K-W- 18K. Let’s Hope for good weather Saturday. Women’s half in Toronto- 14K and Niagara Women’s a mere 12K.

Weeknights are 10 and 8 for K-W and 8 and 6 for the other events. On Monday meet at Loblaws and Wednesday at Occasions (because we have the challenge of a few gentle hills nearby).

Announcements:
To Debbie and Sharon - our thoughts are with you both.
From Ruth & Minds in Motion:
The Winner of the iPad Mini is Rainer Moeller of Toronto!
Question from Susan: is anyone interested in a paddle boarding class for a group of us, at $39 - Kew Beach - we'd pre-book it in late June or July? Clearly, an event not to be missed!

Arlene and I will meet those who venture out to the High Park location for 18K Saturday. looking forward to a new change in scenery!

Enjoy High Park. Cheryl, Eva, Olwyn, Eileen and myself are doing the Yonge St 10K on Sunday. The plan is to walk from the finish line back up to the Sunset to get in our distance. Have a great weekend.

Sorry I won't be able to make High Park, although I would love to...will certainly walk that another day. I will be out to Tim's at 8:00 for whatever.

I am doing the Toronto Yonge Street 10k on Sunday so will miss you all this weekend. Work hard!

I'll be joining the High Park Group on SAt. for something a bit less than 18k. Alexis

To all our friends doing the 10K on Saturday (followed by another 8K and brekkie), have a wonderful race and brunch!

Bob and I will be at High Park on Saturday, and Bob has created routes for all scheduled distances, so don't be put off by 18K-ishness. Looks like we might even have to break out the short sleeves and sunscreen. Wow.

And by "the 10K on Saturday" of course I meant the 10K on Sunday. I am the reason that proofreaders were invented.

Thinking of Debbie and Sharon this week too.... Won't be out Saturday because of the Yonge St 10k on Sunday, followed by 8k back to Sunset Grill; but would love to do High Park another Saturday. Congrats Rainer on the new Ipad! Lou-Ann; thanks for the card in the mailbox; you naughty girl....

Ill be walking from Tim's as I hope to do 18 k and would rather go to Rosetta and avoid the High Park Hills.

Good luck to the 10 kets on Sunday - some of you I believe will be continuing tour walk afterwards and doing about 18k. Good luck.

Margyie, I will be scamming to the book exchange with some of my books and will bring finger food and liquid food.

I'm going to join the Tim's group 18k-ers to Rosetta in the morning.

Have a "good one" to those who are doing the Sunday race and "walk to eat"...that seems to be our motto.

Margy, ditto what Dawn said, I'll be there for the book exchange with munchies.

Sending healing and loving prayers to Debbie, and Sharon and her brother Phil.

I'll be at Tim's on Saturday for whatever the distance, with or without hills.

And, all the best to the Sunday walkers and racers.

Debbie and Sharon - heart songs to both of you, with faith that all will be well. I would LOVE to walk in High Park some time, but not this weekend. I'll be at Tim's for 18K(ish). See you tomorrow!

Ian and I will join you in High Park for 10km. See you tomorrow.

If it isn't raining at 6:30 pm, I'll be out....seems unlikely but thought I'd sign in, just in case.

I won't be out tonight; still recovering from our Yonge Street 10k followed by the TKO'S 11k; who knew TKO's was 11k from Old Fort York?! It was a great race, though; a good time was had by all!

Bob and I have commitments for the next four walks, so will miss seeing you all. Be safe (and dry) and see you a week from Wednesday.

Margy, I would love to book exchange, but Tuesdays is yoga. I will not be walking in the rain, but Jan, if you are going to the dome, I'll join you.

I wouldn't exactly say that the sun is out but it does seem to have stopped raining. One way or another I'll be out, either outside (preferable) if it's not too wet or at the dome if it is.

Jan said...

I'll check in closer to the time.

ok....so the rain has stopped....I'll be out if it stays dry!

Loblaws at 7 - I mapped out a route going east to the end of Swanwick then west to Kingston Road - figured if it started to rain again we wouldn't be too far from home base.

Yes, yes, yes....Loblaws at 7:00
