Walks: Sat-Wed, May 4 to 8

Robin – official eggs of the Shore Things
Thanks to Norma for the picture – and the story of the growing robin family right outside her office window. How nice of them to have eggs in Shore Things colours!

This Saturday, the June racers enjoy an easy 11K. Isn't it fun to be able to say that? While on Sunday, our half marathoners in Cincinnati and Toronto reach the culmination of their spring training. We wish us all the best of luck, and weather.

Monday and Wednesday, the Niagara folks are scheduled for 8K and 10K, while the Dubliners' training kicks in with an easy start. I'll be posting the new training schedule from Libby, which includes the Midsummer 15K, after I hit publish.

Happy birthday to Cynthia! Hope you had a great day – the sunshine certainly delivered.

good luck to the Cincinnati group this weekend. Have fun.

This Saturday some of the Niagara people will be doing 18k from Tim's starting at 7.00 am. We had to change up the schedule and bring forward the long distance , so if you ae able or interested in joining us, please let us know.

Cynthia - another birthday? Does that mean a celebration walk on your part? Happy birthday anyway.

WoW! So happy to see the empty nest is now full! Norma....how can you sleep at night? You must sit at your desk until babies are born! My feeling is you were chosen as "Primary Caregiver" for the wee ones:) But no pressure
See y'all Sat at 8 for a shorter than common walk:)

Bob and I won't be out on Monday, because: a) recuperating from the Pig, and b) visiting Lucy after her thyroid surgery. All is well with her so far. Hope to be back out with you on Wednesday evening.

Jan and Lynn, See you at Loblaws at 7; or do you want to head from Jan's place? Let me know if you two get this in time, otherwise, Loblaws at 7! Helen and Bob and all; welcome back from the Pig; was it fun and fab?

I was planning on going out tonight - anyone else??

Is anyone else getting popups/porn when they log into the comments?

Anonymous said...

No to the pop-ups/porn and yes to walking as long as it is not raining or looking like imminent rain.

It looks like it's just you and I Jan. Shall we just walk in the neighbourhood?

I think we'd actually end up dodging the rain, but Bob is wiped and I'm happy to take this post-race week off as recovery. Plus, I have things to plant. I won't be out on Saturday, because I'm giving a garden talk. So see you next week, when I'll be back in the walking equivalent of the saddle.

Fellow Shorethings,
I am looking into accommodation in New York for a friend who is coming over from England in September. Can anyone recommend a good b & b, apartment or hotel that is not too expensive?
