Walks: Mon. Sept. 20 & Wed. Sept. 22

Look at those lovely flowers. And the ones on the right are nice, too.
It's an easy two walks going into our races this weekend for the Scotia & KW Walking Classic crew: 6K and 5K. Chicagoans are still putting in the paces with 14K and 8K.

For the KW races, please check the comments in the previous post, where Bob has listed our participants. You'll also see that he has organized a post-race brunch starting at 11:30. Please let us know if you're coming, and/or bringing a guest, so we can give the restaurant our numbers. Speak up if you're interested in carpooling, and we'll try to match people up.

For our Shore Things 10+10, we could use a couple more volunteers. It would also be hard to match the bounty of last year's draw prizes. However, if you can offer or organize something, please let Trish know. Pending avaiability of our race marshall, we hope to have our first planning meeting on Thursday evening at my house.

Niki is our birthday girl this week. Have a spectacular birthday!

Hi Helen, I'm in for the 10km and brunch, and I'm starting my sun dance right now.

I won't be at Loblaws this evening. I will probably not be at Shoppers on Wednesday as I'm hoping to go to Fenelon Falls that day and don't know return time.

Please add my name to the KW post race brunch.

KW carpooling thing - there are six of us leaving in two cars at 8.00 promptly on Saturday. So there is space for at least one more (maybe two depending on how much baggage we are taking). We will be meeting at my house.

For Bob.
I am staying over Saturday night and am looking forward to Rainer's lasagna. Also count me in for brunch Sunday.Let me know final count for Saturday night so I can bring enough plates etc.

Trish, we still don't know who all is driving in on Saturday, making it hard to plan the pot luck in detail. So why don't we say: everyone bring your own plates & utensils for Saturday, and bring enough food to feed yourself/selves -- that way, we should have our bases covered.

The numbers are 21 racers (plus some family; I think Bob mentioned 24 total for brunch). However, I believe that some people are driving in on race morning.

I won't be out tonight - out of town company - but I hope to be out Wednesday.

Count me in for brunch on Sunday - in fact if you can stretch to 4 people, Ray is coming with me, and my girlfriend and her husband are coming - Ginny's first race ever - she's doing the 10K. If it's getting too unwieldy let me know and we'll look for something else.

I'll be out tonight and Wed !
Count me in for brunch on Sunday and if Dawn B hasn't rsvp'd .....she will join in for brunch ......also....Jeanny Scantlebury is joining us and will also want to join for brunch!

Also.....count me in for brunch after the 10 + 10. I have a feeling that Dawn B's hubby (Bob) and son (Aiden) might be more than willing to be bike/ safety guys again....but Dawn is out of town until Friday so I probably can't confirm til then.

Hi all,

Gary and I will be driving to Waterloo Saturday morning. As it turns out, I plan to do the 10k, not the half --I've got permission from the race people to switch. We're staying at the Waterloo Hotel.Gary plans to sleep in race morning!

However, we both will be at the Saturday potluck supper, as well as at the Sunday brunch. (Gary is not entitled to any desserts!)

My son Simon is currently living in Waterloo; we plan to visit him later that afternoon, so will not be driving back to Toronto until Sunday evening.

Helen and Bob, I'm still a little confused re the food thing for the potluck --do we each bring a dish or two to share with everyone, and our own plates/cutlery?

I'm fine to bring a couple of bottles of wine as well.

Cheers

Debbie

I'm at class on Wednesday and Bob's at an event at his school, so neither of us will be at Shoppers.

But we'll see some of you on race weekend.

Helen and Bob, can you please give us a cell phone number so we can call you once we get to St. Jacob's and hook up with the group (for lunch or whatever)?

Thanks

Debbie
