Walks: Week of Aug. 17 to 22

One last summer omnibus post, then I'll be back to thrice-weekly postings -- unless you prefer to only receive one post per week. Sign in with your preference.

For some of us, pictured above at the scene of the grime, this week is the lead-up to the Midsummer Night's 15K on Saturday evening. Note that there's no kit pickup at the start line this year. Be sure to pick up your numbers and chips before the race.

For others, it's a fall-back week in the Toronto Island Women's Half schedule. And for others, it's just a chance to get out and stretch your limbs. Whatever you're training for, I hope the predicted zigzags from on high don't mess up your schedule.

Here's what it calls for this week:

Monday from Loblaws: 8K Here's a route.

Wednesday from Shoppers: 8K And here's a route.

Saturday from Tim's: 12K (Boardwalk route, turnaround at the far end of Lynndale)

Stay cool, and stay safe.

Bob and I won't be out for this week's walks. See some of you on Saturday evening. Cheers, everyone.

I'm (sadly) back from the cottage tomorrow and will try to get out to the evening walks this week. Helen, if it's not too much trouble, I enjoy receiving your "thrice weekly" e-mails. So, that would be my vote. Of course, it is extra for you, so I think that it should be your call... See you next weekend.

I probably won't be out Monday - heat, humidity doing me in and Wed. I will be in Kingston. Hopefully out for a final go Sat.
Going away I like the 3x's weekly- enjoy reading the excuses, I mean creative writing and like looking at the chosen photo of the day- however I know what a large time commitment that is, so would understand once a week.

I realy like the thrice weekly posts, but only if you, the one who puts in the work, want to. The 3 versus 1 gets my vote.

My house does not have air conditioning and it has been sweltering! Won't be out this evening but have posted my 28th Marine Corp Marathon on the office wall as a 'remember when' Lets see if I can make it on Wednesday.
Once a week is fine with me Helen although I always like getting emails. Cynthia

Helen, I appreciate your postings anyway I can get them. Once, or twice, or thrice - whatever works for you. Or a combination......

Helen, I love getting your postings, but realize what a commitment it is. So I'm happy with once a week, but I am very, very happy with three postings per week!
I won't be out tonight (Wed), as I've been walking Toronto Island for the day with Steve and his son, and have probably done more than 8k already. I'll see some of you on Saturday morning, Olwyn

I love getting e-mail from Helen three times a week. All she's hoping I'll do it come out and walk - much nicer than the rest of the e-mail I get, which seems to want me to do work.

I'll be out Saturday morning - are we gathering at 7 or at 7:30??

A few of us less determined walkers are meeting at 8 Sat for a shorter walk and then coffee. If this appeals please join us.

This is to Trish and the less determined walkers...what about splitting the difference and meeting at 7.30? I would love to see you before you depart for my homeland to offer advice about dealing with the natives...

Hi All, I'm going to reneg on my last message, and probably won't go for a walk in the morning; we went to the Ex today, and walked for 5 hours non-stop! It was great fun; but I think I have to rest in the morning. Have a great walk; and see you soon! Olwyn
