Walks - Saturday Sept. 14 - Wednesday Sept. 17

Walking Charms

Join us on Saturday at Tim's - many will meet at 8:00 am. However, those training will likely decide on an earlier start time. Please let others know just in case they want to train with you.

Training distances are as follows:
Ottawa - 12 km followed by 10 and 8 during the week
Corning - 20 km followed by 8 and 8 during the week
Scotia - 16 km followed by 10 and 10 during the week
Run for the Toad is approaching quickly - I think we have at least one person representing us in this event. Train, train, train; trails (uneven terrain) and hills are our friends.

It really helps when others support those training - join them on some of their walks.

Sunday is the Terry Fox event - at various locations around Toronto. Cancer research is such a worthy cause - we all know someone who has benefitted from this research. Come out and support the run/walk.

Other walking opportunities:
Wednesday morning some folks meet at Tim's at 9:00 am. Charlotte will send an organizing email.
Weekday walks are hard to determine - those training are getting out most Monday and Wednesday mornings - watch the blog for confirmation of date and location.

Announcements: from Rainer - the butter tart guy (he's been called worse) - Cavan Hills Country Run is on Sept. 28th in Peterborough. It is worth the drive. A challenging course with great treats at the end. Consider signing up...

Remember: this is your blog - if you have announcements about walking, races, and health benefits, send them along.

Enjoy your weekend and see you on Saturday.

The Corning crew are meeting at our place at 7 am on Saturday and car-pooling over to the Brick Works as our base for 20K. We'll be taking trails recommended by Trish, heading for the Belt Line. If you're joining us, please let us know.

I won't be out on Saturday Morning. Doing the Great Canadian Beer Run 5k with Greg down at Ontario Place. What some of us will do for a beer! I hope to join the Wednesday morning gang this week.

If I had a choice, I'd be joining Trish for the Great Canadian Beer 5k run; sounds like fun! I'm busy Saturday morning, so will be doing my 16km in the afternoon...maybe... ;-) Have a great weekend everyone!

The four of us (Laura, Barb, Patty and I) will be there as close to 8 as is possible. We wait for Patty to come from Oshawa and we must also re-route to get to our destination.

See you in the morning.

I'll join the 8:00 am crowd at Tim's - assuming no rain. Looking forward to seeing folks then.

Corning folks - when and where are you doing your mid-week walks?

Susan and friends, sorry for not signing in about the Monday morning Corning walk! I think we all thought someone else was doing it.

Wednesday, we're back at the parking entrance to Taylor Creek park off Dawes Road (in the dip). We'll start at 8 am for 8K. Let us know if you're joining us.

I won't be joining you tomorrow morning either, got too much going on right now with Emily visiting, packing and moving stuff and having to work too! Might not be out for a little while.
