Walks - Sat. Aug. 10 - Wed. Aug. 14

Irish Medal celebrations

Still not sure if you'll see this picture - but if not, rest assured, it's a good one! Some day, this too shall pass.

Most of our Irish racers and fans have returned so I suspect we'll hear some well deserved bragging on Saturday.  Ruth - where is YOUR medal?

Our walks for the week, for those of us who remain in the city and walking, are as follows:
Midsummer’s is now in full taper with 10K race pace for Saturday, then 6 and 5 Monday and Wednesday respectively
Ottawa is 14K for Saturday and 8 and 10k Monday and Wednesday
I suggest that we start at 7:30 for the 14 km and those doing 10 km (or less) could start at 7:30 or at 8:00 - state your preference.

Mid week daytime walks - you folks know what to do and where to meet. Please connect by email.
Mid week evening walks - Monday from Loblaws and Wednesday from Occasions.

Hope to see you out walking on Saturday.

My medal was safely in my hotel room!!

OK, 14K on Saturday at 7:30. I'll be there. I still won't be wearing my medal. But I'll likely be wearing the fluorescent green race t-shirt. You have been warned - you may want to wear sunglasses :-)

Congrats to the Dubliners! Any chance of company for a shortish walk starting at 8?

I am happy to do a shortish walk at 8:00 with Charlotte, so please don't wait for me at 7:30.

And Susan; congrats to you; the photo is perfect!

I'll also join Charlotte and Lou-Ann for a "shortish" walk starting at 8.

I like the idea of both 8 and shortish!

The trip was great, lots of sights seen and food eaten. The race was dry and coolish, so no complaints. Frances and I will be out at 7:30 for about 10K.

Much as I want to come out in my dayglo green Dublin shirt and sparkly medal on Saturday, I came down with the flu almost the moment we landed back in Toronto. I'll be in bed, but Bob intends to join the 7:30 group for 14K… or some distance.

What a drag Helen - hope you're feeling better soon

Bob & I will be walking on Monday evening -- if no one else signs in, we'll walk from home.

Then we're hoping to join the Wednesday morning group.

Hope you're feeling better Helen. I won't be out Monday, but will go from Occassions on Wednesday at 7pm; if I don't hear from anyone else, I'll head out from home.

We missed the walk Wednesday morning, so if we walk at all, it will be in the evening. However, I (Helen) have an appointment till about 6:45. Anyone willing to walk a wee bit later than 7?

Olwyn said...

Hi Helen, et al,I'm going to walk home from work, as I have a 'do' later now, so won't be joining you tonight (Wed). Have a good walk though!

I am planning to walk tonight - flexible as to time.

Would 7:30 work?

I had a late (and longer) shift at work today and just got home...too exhausted for hills tonight! I should be able to make it Saturday.

Yes - could work for me, but I'll likely only stay 1 hour. See you then.
