Walks: Sat-Wed, April 6-10

At the Rosetta McClain Folly
A super-quick post to give you a place to sign in. I won't be able to join you Saturday, as I'm at the Master Gardener National Conference. Please forgive my haste. Good luck to all the Harry's racers – may your weather be fine!

Saturday, both race groups are supposed to do 11K, but many will be racing in High Park that day. Monday, both groups do 8K, but we split on Wednesday: 10K for the May races; 6K for June.

After this rush, I'll be calling for potential volunteers to attend an info session about handing over the reins for the Shore Things. If this group is important to you, I urge you to step up and take on a role. Many hands make light work. I will be stepping down on June 30. June 30 will come quickly.

I won't be at TIm's tomorrow morning - with Harry.

I would like to add to Helen's urging for people to pull together to keep the blog going, and I tlikely also, keep our group going.... Helen has done this singlehandly for a many years, and I know no-one person can fill her shoes. However, I believe several of us can figure it out and do it - it doesn't have to be exactly as Helen has done it, but we can figure it out and share the load.

And I know Helen will be behind us, encourging and supporting. So, let's do it, walking friends.............

Good luck to all of the "Harries" - it looks like it's going to be a great day.

I won't be out tomorrow :-( but I'll be sure to have a cup of Tim's coffee at some point during the day, in solidarity with the group.

I'm happy to help Helen retire, or, anyway, find more time to spend on all of her interests. I am best if someone points me at a defined task.

I think an info session is a great idea - Helen you make it look so easy I don't think any of us appreciate what is done behind the scenes - we were talking about it on our walk this morning. Count me in for the info session.

FYI, the Harry was lots of fun today (breakfast at the Sunset Grill was very yummy)...maybe next year we can get a larger contingent to do those hills! See you next Saturday.

I plan on walking tonight

Crap it's raining...

Helen said...

Jan, My thoughts exactly. Wind and rain. I'll check back closer to walk time, but it doesn't look promising.

I had every intention of walking, rain or no rain, but I just got home and I am soaking wet. If not for the wind the walk would be doable. As it is, the it whips the rain against the body and it is no fun. Can't even see properly and the umbrella is inside out!

I really need to train for Cincinnati but at what cost, I ask you?

I'll stay in and do some cross-training, instead.

Torn. I need to do 10K, and the animated map I just looked at shows a potential break in the clouds for a couple of hours tonight. Tomorrow will be lousy. If it isn't raining at 7, is anyone tempted to give it a try?

Jan, Bob and I are willing to give it a try. If no one signs in to the blog, we'll walk from our street.
