Walks: Labour Day Monday & Wed. Sept. 8

A little Labour Day fireworks for you from my garden. Hope you're enjoying the long weekend. To confirm the alternative time and place for Monday's walk: 8:30 am from Tim's. If you prefer to stick with Monday evening from Loblaws, please let people know by signing in on the blog.

The distance is 10K for the KW/Scotia halfs. Chicago, you have 13K on the schedule, but you can choose to break this into smaller chunks on two separate days. Everyone else, just come out for a walk and good company.

Wednesday, KW/Scotia does 10K and Chicago does 8K. Chicagoans, if you prefer, you could simply divide your distances into 10 + 10.

And, on that subject, could people please confirm that there is interest in doing the Shore Things 10 + 10 this October 31st? We have confirmed volunteers, but no confirmed participants. The registration fee will again be $10 to cover the cost of the medals and bibs. Charlotte, would you mind collecting the money?

Good luck to Rainer, the king of the short race, who is signed up for the Oakville Labour Day 10K. Take it easy and have fun!

We now begin the avalanche of September birthdays with Alexis, who (I believe) has a special one this Wednesday. Have a happy celebration, girl. This is a big year for you.

I will try to be at Tim's tomorrow morning for 8.30 am.

I am also declaring my intention to do the 10k on 31st October. I an anticipating brilliant weather. Also I would be happy to arrange for brunch at TKO's following our event, if people are interested in that location again. Last year the cost was $15 per person, and I would guess that it would be similar this time.

Helen, I will collect the money for the 10 + 10 and will participate as usual (minus the last 10 + 10 weather)

1. I am planning on being at Tim's tomorrow..barring my blister flaring up again.
2. I will participate in the shorethings race providing I survive Chicago.
3. I am also in for the brunch at TKO's, shouldn't be any reason why I wouldn't!

I am planning on being at Tim's tomorrow and would prefer to do 13 then rather than more later in the week.
I am confirming my interest in our race on Oct 31 and would love to be part of the brunch afterwards.
I am also interested in being counted in for the brunch after the KW race, please.
See you tomorrow.

Yesterday, no cars. Tomorrow, a choice of two. So, count me in for Tim's in the morning.

If I can walk in hurricane winds and torrential rain as in last year's 10 and 10, then I can probably do it in a Halloween costume, in the snow. Brunch at TKO's was very good last year so sign me up.

See you in the morning.

See you at Tim's tomorrow morning.

And yes, I'm in for 10 miles and the brunch. I join Dawn in hoping for great weather, and agree with Sharon that we can do (almost) anything.

I won't be out this week due to my English relatives being in town (a feeble excuse, but it works!) Count me in for the Shore Things 10k and brunch, and also a pair of dress rehearsal tickets to a spring opera as a prize. Happy Labour Day, everyone!

Hi all,
Let's see if I can answer all of the questions:
1) no, I wasn't at Tim's this morning - no excuse, just really, really tired
2) I'm in for brunch at the KW half
3) I'm in for the Shore Things 10K (not the 10 miles)
4) I'm in for brunch at TKO's afterwards
5) I'd like a calendar please

I can't make it Wednesday, so see you next Saturday!

I'd love to go walk tonight, but don't relish walking in a storm. As the wind seems to be whipping something up, I'll wait till 6:30 to commit... Watch this space.

Following my husband's lead, I'm getting dressed for a walk, but I'm not liking it. Rain, rain, go away!
