Walks: Mon. May 3 & Wed. May 5

Six Shore Things completed the Sporting Life 10K on Sunday – congratulations, guys, I hear you dodged the rain.

And four Shore Things volunteered as race marshals, which gave us a new appreciation of what goes into the management of a race. Each of us would do it again, despite the ungodly wake-up time. There'll be another chance to volunteer in July. If we can get a larger group out, it could be a big advantage for the Shore Things.

This week, both Monday and Wednesday have 10K distances, but there will be shorter options.

Monday, we'll walk a flat route, to just past Rosetta McClain Gardens (Fishleigh at Lakewood Ave). Wednesday will have a few hills in it, but you can loop back sooner if you'd prefer not to take them. Follow this link to a map, so you'll be familiar with the route. See you at 7 pm and 7 pm.

Happy birthday this week to MIA Shore Thing, Milka. Wherever you are, girl, have a happy one!

I won't be out this evening, but hope to be there on Wednesday.

Which race needs volunteers in July, Helen?

I'll be out on Monday. See you at 7.

Dawn, the next volunteer opportunity for the Canada Running Series will the Acura 10-Miler on July 11th. If we could get a group of 20 Shore Things out, it would be really great for our coffers. :^)

I won't be out tonight (or soon, due to the opera), but I did enjoy the Sporting Life 10k very much! I walked (and talked)with Lou-Ann, and we saw various other walkers en route; including Barb, who was trying out her luck with running. We also saw the great Shore Things Volunteers, Helen (we waved at you from the other side of the road!), Ruth, Alexis and Bob; looking very good in their bright blue T's! I'll forward pics, soon. I was going to use the rain as an excuse this morning but I guess I can't!

I will be out tomorrow night for a walk. I missed seeing other Shore Things at the Sporting Life but had a good time in the race.

I plan to be out tonight unless the forecast for a storm is imminent.

See you later,
Sheila

I'll be there Wednesday, with route maps (or partial route maps). See you at 7.

Of course, it's starting to rain. If it's really pelting down at 6:30, I'll be staying home after all and will try to walk in the morning. Not a good day for hills.

Just heard the pitter patter of rain and I have a Doc later tonight anyway, so I'm skipping tonight (not literally)
