Spring Shore Things Discussion

Here are some of the ideas for spring events -- post your comments with ayes or nays:

- We have five walkers signed up for the Chilly Half on March 1st, so you'd have company if you're interested -- there are still a few walker places open

- We're also proposing our own Shore Things 10-Miler on March 29th (we'll need participants, volunteers and organizers -- please step up)

- The Canada Running Series is offering a "combo pack" discount (including a number of Spring races we might consider -- Harry's Spring 5K/8K in April and Sporting Life 10K in May)

- Incredibly, they still have not set a date for the More Marathon/Half in NYC -- stay tuned

- There's also a waiting list being generated for the Toronto Women's Half on May 31st, if you want to get your name in just in case.

- And I know that our power-hikers have signed up for a 3-day Bruce Trail Hike over the Victoria Day long weekend

Those are just some of the possibilities -- all links can be found on the blog. Please sign in and voice up.

The 6th annual MORE Marathon and Half-Marathon will be held April 26, 2009, in NYC's Central Park.

Registration starting December 1, 2008.

Thanks, Carole, I've updated our race calendar. That's a good time of year for a race -- we might be able to drum up a few people for that one.

How about it Shore Things?

Another race on the same day as the More is the Waterloo Full/Half/5K. As a matter of fact, I'm warming to this one already, and might sign up for it. Take a look:

I would be glad to help organize the first ever Shore Things 10 miler. Would be lots of fun.
I am thinking of NY if I can get my daughters to get out and train- the deal was I would take them for a few days if and that's a big if they train. They have to walk the distance and not just shop. However if that doesn't happen Waterloo sounds perfect.Several distance options there and it is not too far from home. I would also do Harry's(good swag) and maybe for the first time ever the Sporting Life 10k. These two are definately in my range
