Walk: Wed. Sept. 24 @ Shoppers

Wednesday, the Scotia group has a manageable 5K, while the Toronto group enjoys (notice that verb) a delightful 11K. I'm hoping there'll be at least one besides me in the latter bunch, as Bob has to do his 11K at another time.

For this weekend's brunch dates: Sounds like Leverne has everything organized for the Scotia post-race get-together. For our Kitchener gang, Bob has just booked a table for 12 under his name at the Delta, starting at 10:45. So we're all set!

Today's image is a little reminder to make ourselves as visible as possible when we're on the road at night: wearing light colours, reflective surfaces, and twinkle lights. It may be the only time when "lighting up" is good for our health.

Sounds like a busy weekend...good luck to all.

I won't be out this Saturday. Big hike for Ruth and me. Wish us luck as we tackle the "Toronto section" of the Bruce Trail...about 50+ km over Sat & Sun. Ohmigoodness..what was I thinking...

I'll be cheering for the Scotia gang from Kitchener/Waterloo.
Have a great hike Ruth and Susan. I hope to join you when life is a little bit slower.

I can't make the walk on Wednesday. I will try to do 10K in Waterloo on Saturday instead.

Hi Gang,
I had to work late last night, and also on Wednesday night, so I'll miss our Scotiabank tapers; but I'll fit them in at another time.
Good luck to Susan and Ruth on the Bruce Trail; and all the best to the Kitchener/Waterloo walkers. Wishing everyone a great walking weekend, wherever it takes you!
I'll take lots of photos at the Scotia Half, so everyone can see our smiles as we cross the finish line in record time!....or at least, see our smiles....!

I'll be at Shopper's on Wednesday, but probably won't be able to do the 11k with you Helen, as my brother is arriving from Vancouver that evening and staying with me.
Good luck to everyone this coming weekend. I'm going to get some upper body training (elbow bending) instead of doing any of the walks. But I will be thinking of you all on Sunday. At least, I'll be thinking of you if I don't have too much of a headache and wake up in time.
For those of you who I might have missed the big news - the wedding of the year/century is (my nephew) is happening this weekend.........

About KW... You know you're distracted when you sign up for an out-of-town event for the same day your daughter is doing her FIRST EVER event--the Scitiabank Half--on the same day. Or maybe I thought it was for the other September 28th. In any event (pun sorta intended), I won't be joining you in KW this weekend. Have a blast!!! Cheers -- Michelle.

I won't be out Wednesday night - no big excuse other than just because I won't! Hoping to get a walk in Thursday (or walk to school Friday) to make up for it and be ready for the big KW classic.
Good luck to all those doing the Scotia! I will be cheering you on from Kitchener.

See you tonight for 11K (anyone?), and I hope this time I'll be *on* time.

Hi Helen,

I know I'm late with this, but I will not be able to make it this Wednesday. Am having a bit of problems with my neck, but just came out of physio, and am on the mend for Saturday in London - the ALS walk. Good luck to all this Saturday whatever walk you are waling or whatever you are doing.

Have fun.
