Wednesday morning at Marie Curtis Park
It feels so good to get out and move - what a lovely walk we had on Wednesday morning. Won't you consider joining us on Saturday morning at Tim's at 8:00 am? It's a great way to start the weekend.
Other opportunities for walks during the week:
Monday and Wednesday morning walks are usually posted in the comment section of the blog so check there for meeting location and time - usually an 8:00 am start. Location may be the Monarch Park Dome if the conditions are slippery or dangerous. Oh yes, it is free for seniors between 8:00 - 10:00 am.
Another group walks Wednesday morning from Tim's, starting 9:00 am (or so). Charlotte sends an organizing email. Just let her know if you want to be added to the list.
Announcements & Information:
from Olwyn: A new trail: "The Meadoway - The Toronto Region and Conservation Authority (TRCA) is planning a continuous connection from the Don Valley all the way to the Toronto Zoo and Rouge Park. They’ll connect the 16km space using 10km of existing multi-use trails while adding 6km of new multi-use trail." Sounds good to me; can't wait to walk it.
from Libby: Sporting Life 10 km - Price increases for registration on January 15. Olwyn would love company!
I know that a few folks are ill or injured - wishing you a speedy and full recovery - looking forward to seeing you again.
To those who are travelling, please be safe and enjoy your adventures.
Was nice to see Louise and Tanya - hope you will join us again soon.Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday.

Testing to see if my comment goes through
Hi Eileen, looks like your comment went through! Great photos, the one with the Shore Things, and the one without! I may not be out in the morning as I'm working Saturday and Sunday, so please don't wait for me if I'm not there by 8. Wishing everyone a lovely weekend!
I'll be out in the morning unless it is pouring rain. Doing the rain dance ....
It's iffy, weather-wise. If we're not there on time don't wait for us.

The decision whether or not to walk tomorrow is out of my hands because I'll be at a garden seminar all day Saturday. However, I heard Bob mention the PATH, so perhaps he'll be heading there...
I am not walking tomorrow. Still recovering from the flu. Have a good walk!
Forecast tomorrow is for 90% chance of rain in the morning so PATH works for me.
Alternatively we could go Sunday morning - rain is supposed to stop and it will be relatively mild.
Thoughts?
I will wait till the morning to see the weather, however I am not thinking it looks too safe for walking (if you listen to the news at 6:00pm report)...I will join you eventually!
If it's Sunday morning, I could actually go.
But Sunday morning does look windy. Maybe the PATH would be your best option.
if It’s raining, I’m fine to do the path

I know I said I would be out starting tomorrow, but with the weather forecast, I think I am going to turn off my alarm clock tonight and just sleep in.
Ditto what Leverne said.
For the Path walkers, is 7:45 at our place ok, and we can carpool? I’ll drive.
Bob
Ok
Fine

I'll be there
I'm heading to Tim's for 8:00 am. Hope some others will be there too.
I will just walk in my neighbourhood this morning.

Monday morning walk - anyone in? Assuming no rain....
Forecast not looking great - freezing rain from 5am to 9am, and Terry (neighbour) said it was treacherous walking today because it's slippery. I know you don't like it Susan but maybe the dome is the way to go tomorrow morning.
Did anyone show up on Saturday?
Once broken, twice shy – if it's icy Monday morning, I'd go for the dome. Will check in early tomorrow to confirm.
I would like to walk in the morning and would rather do the dome than risk slipping.
I’m working tomorrow (Monday) so can’t walk. Also I may be working Wednesday, but don’t know yet.
The dome is fine, what time?
Leverne
I’d say the usual time, 8 am.
Passing on the dome - will walk from home - at least, that's my story....
I won't be out this morning after all. Hopefully, Wednesday.
Won’t be walking Wednesday either because i’m working.
Tim’s 2 at 8 good for Wednesday walkers?
Bob
I'm working tomorrow - thinking of walking to my client on Madison. It's about 8k one way. If anyone wants to walk partway with me we could start from here and go the backstreets to Broadview where you could turn around and I'll keep going??
That is if I can walk at all! My back is killing me!
If the consensus is Tim's2 I can't go.
Helen how is your hip?
I can walk from Tim's 2. However, if you folks want to walk Jan to work, I'll join the 9:00 walkers from the other Tim's. I'll check back to see the decision.
I like the idea of walking with Jan as it's closer for me. However if it's Tims 2 I will try and get there but don't wait for me if I'm not there at 8.
On second thought I can't even stand up straight tonight so maybe forget my plans and stick to Tims2.
I’m working Wednesday, so won’t be out Wed. Jan hope your back feels better soon.
Leverne
I think it’s Tim’s 2 for us, because we have to stop at Lowe’s on the way home. 8ish?
