Midsummer Night's Walk gang - 2013

Race update according to Olwyn - Midsummer Night’s Walk ~
It was a fun walk; gorgeous weather and a very flat course; but the wait for the ferry took forever! However, we did get to ride on the Trillium ferry on the way home, which was a treat; it’s an old restored ferry from 1910; and it’s run by steam, with a paddlewheel; felt like we were back another century!  Sounds like a good way to end the evening....

Our walks for the week are as follows:
Saturday's distance for the Ottawa gang is 18 km - I suggest a 7:00 am start, given the distance and potential for heat. For those planning to do less, 8:00 am start would likely be fine for 5-10 km.

For the Monday and Wednesday day time group, please contact each other using email. Evening walkers will meet at Loblaws on Monday and at Occasions on Wednesday - both at 7:00 pm.
Monday's distance is 8 km; Wednesday's distance is 10 km.

Couldn't resist this photo from an outing with feathered friends in Newfoundland (thanks to Charlotte, I think):

Several of us - Cheryl, Eileen, Olwyn, Trish, are walking from Brickworks on Sunday morning at 9 and doing 12k in time to finish for some delicious treats the Blueberry Festival. Let me know if you would like to join us.
After Labour Day should be back to the regular Saturday walks.

I will be at Tim's at 8.00 and was hoping for company to walk along the Martin Goodman train (I think that's what it is called) for about an 8 - 10 k return distance.
Any takers?

If people are interested in early morning walks on Monday and Wednesday, Lou-Ann has offered to do both days from her place at 8.30 with a swim afterwards. This could be the last opportunity to accept her hostessing us and using her pool!! Let her know if you will be joining us, please.

It sounds like I'm walking at 7 am from Tim's for (shudder) 18K. Hope there'll be someone at the back of the pack to keep me company. What was I thinking with all this travel!?!?!

I apparently am working on Saturday (who knew?) and so I'd love to join the Sunday group.

Leverne and I and possibly Frances will be joining the Sunday crew at the Brickworks. Where are we meeting Trish?

I'd love to join the group at the Brickworks on Sunday. I echo Lynne's question - where are we meeting Trish? Libby, I'll be at Tim's at 10:00 on Saturday with your walking poles.

The plan for the brickworks was to meet at 8:45ish so we could use facilities and be on the path for 9:00. The distance is 12K. It might be part valley and part streets or it might be 2 - 6k loops through valley. Just working it out.
Parking is $8 on Sundays so carpooling recommended. The blueberry festival starts at 11 and I know there will be blueberry ice cream sandwices and blueberry donuts for sure. If you enter the brickworks at the lights, we park in the lot on the left hand side.
Let me know either on blog or email me so we know who to look for.

I'll be out and I believe Helen is coming out - maybe a little slower than last week though after the 18k on Saturday - I'm feeling it a little.

Monday evening, Bob and I will join Jan and the Loblaws crew. 8K sounds just right for the distance.

I'm giving it a miss tonight, still sweltering from the heat at work.

I had rather a long (unexpected) walk this afternoon and not up to going out again this evening.
