Walk: Sat. Feb. 2 @ Loblaws

Saturday is Groundhog Day, and just to confound the little critter, there's another storm warning out for a big dump of snow on Friday. Mild weather is predicted for the weekend, but please check the Comments space to see whether Friday's storm means we'll have to reschedule the 11K lined up for Saturday.

Here's a link to our route:

Remember, the new departure time is 8:15 am -- that gives us 15 minutes to meet in the warmth of the store entrance before we head out. Please park in non-prime spaces, such as the lot across the street, as we did last week.

At Eva's request, this week's route is less twisty (it's also flatter), and most of it is familiar territory. Be sure to print and bring a copy for yourself.

On this last day of January I can safely paraphrase the nursery rhyme to say that so far this winter: "We've weathered the weather, whatever the weather, whether we liked it or not!"

Last night, with the windchill dipping to the high teens, and winds gusting to 72 kph, four of us proved that when it comes to foul weather, The Shore Things represent!

I won't be there on Saturday. Still recoverying from the flu.
Will probably be back out on Monday night. Have a good, flat walk!

First, I hope everyone gets/got home safely today.
Second, that #*!#*! groundhog had better not see his shadow tomorrow!
Third I will have to wait until morning to see if I'm walking. I like the route and have yak traks, but am more concerned with my knees twisting as we trudge through the snow. Of course, there is the coffee!

If there is a rain dance, is there a snow dance? I think somebody did a good snow dance job.

Well, I will check out what's like tomorrow before heading out... I still have to find/buy a yak trak.

Yak trak is sold out at Canadian Tire (@Leslie)as of last Sunday.

Hope to be there ... depends on weather conditions. If I don't make it, have a good walk and great w/e. -- Michelle

I won't be out tomorrow. I don't have a sled or a pair of cross country skis, and I think that's what will be needed on both the sidewalks and the roads in the morning. Good luck, and be very careful, please.
I hope (maybe) to see you on Saturday 9th February.

I'm hoping to be out in the morning, depending on how deep my car is burried! I may trudge nearer to home, if it's really snowy.
I am planning to be out on Monday night, with a mystery guest walker!
See you then! ..or tomorrow...!

Hey, me hearties,

It's 10:30 pm, the snow has stopped and it's a winter wonderland out there. But Bob & I are game to try the walk on Saturday. See you there!

Sorry I missed this morning's walk. I have a good excuse. At least it sounds good to me. For those I don't see tomorrow at yoga, I will hopefully see you on Monday.
