Don't forget to do Cross Training
Here we are in August already. Celebrate the long weekend by walking with friends. Join us on Saturday at Tim's. Two start times: 7:30 am and 8:00 am. The weather this weekend looks excellent.
For those training, the distances are as follows:
Ottawa: 12K on the weekend and 10 and 8K during the week.
Corning: 14K this weekend and 8 and 10 during the week.
Scotia: 10K on the weekend and 6 and 8 during the week.
Consider joining the trainees for their increasing distances. Company helps.
Other walks:
Monday: I suggest that we meet at Tim's (Lakeshore & Leslie) at 9:00 am. Sign in to let others know if this suits you.
Wednesday: day time - contact Lou Ann directly. Evening at 6:30 from Occasions.
Sign in, join in.
Announcements & Information: from Sharon - Please welcome our new recruit, Lawson. Congratulations to Grandma and family.
He's a keeper.
from Eileen: Interesting article on the benefits of walking - to inspire us. Check it out:
Some lucky folks are travelling. We send you are the very best of wishes - enjoy! We look forward to hearing your stories. I think Margy and Rainer have a challenging walk in the UK - have fun.
To those who are ill, injured or recovering - you are in our thoughts. Take care.
Enjoy the long weekend.

Happy long weekend everyone!
I'll be out Saturday at 7:30 hoping to get some distance. I also plan to be out Monday - to be confirmed.
Bob and I will be out at 7:30 for (ugh) 14K. Probably Monday, too, but we'll confirm closer to the event.
I'll be training in Halifax this weekend; in fact, I'm doing the Natal Day race in Dartmouth on Monday; it's a grand 3k....wha-hoo! Happy walking everyone, and stay cool!
Congratulations, Sharon. I guess Miko had something to do with it, so congratulations to Miko and Chris, too.
I'm not sure about Saturday, but I'll be out on Monday.

Arlene (Ruth guiding) and I will be at Tim's Monday..please advise if start time changes from 9
Do any of the Monday morning walkers want to start at 8:30 rather than 9?
I would prefer 8:30...
If Ruth is in agreement, Libby and Arlene will come for an 8:30 start
We’ll be there at 8:30 for our 8K.
I'll be there for 8:30 for 8k
Weather permitting, we'll be walking from Lou-Ann's on Wednesday morning. As the Corning crew has 10K on our schedule, should we start at 8:15?
See you at 8:15,
Leverne
