Walks - March 28 - April 1, 2015



Join us on Sat. Mar. 28 at Tim's at 8:00am. Training distances are as follows: 16K for Big Sur and GoodLife; 14K for KW Half; 12K for Niagara Women’s half. Week night distances are 8 and 6ish! Others are welcome to walk the distance that feels right for you.

Mid week evenings: Mon. at Loblaws; Wed. at Occasions (and it is Doc Soup night as well). Sign in and check the blog before heading out.

Announcements from Libby - Sat. Apr 4 is Harry’s Spring Run. A large number of Shore Things will walk in support of Ian Brown and prostate Cancer. Race start is 10am. Race kit pick up is at the Runner’s Shop at Bloor and Avenue Road starting Wed. Ruth and Libby are willing to pick up race kits Thursday night if you send one of us your information. The kits can be picked up from Libby at High Park on race day or perhaps at a central drop-off in the east end on Friday. Please contact Libby or Ruth with your information if you want them to pick up your kit.

There is race day pick-up at High Park.
 
Likely there will be a very small group walking from Tim's next Saturday of those unable to participate in the Harry's.

Walks - March 21 - March 25

Feeling the love
Join us on the first Saturday of spring, at 8 am, at Tim's. Promises to be a great day for walking any distance of your choice. For those training ...lace up those sneakers as GoodLife and Big Sur walk 14K this weekend. K-W is 12K and Niagara is 10K - or, just round it up and do 14 - why not?
 
Don't worry if you've taken the winter off - this is the ideal time to join us again. I won't mention you by name, of course, but hope to see you Sat.
Training during the week should be 8K one night and 6K the other. Usually Monday at Loblaws; Wednesday at Occasions with some gentle hills. Check the blog.
A special shout out to those with health challenges - we think of you and miss you - Debbie, Ian, and Frances.

Walks - Sat. March 14 - Wed. March 18

Playtime
Spring is in the air so join us on Sat. at 8:00 am at Tim's for any distance that pleases you. Training? 12 K for GoodLife; 16 K for K-W; 8K for Niagara. Monday is 8 K for all training and Wednesday is 5-6K. Harry’s Spring Run-Off is fast approaching so try to do 6 at least for those registered.
 
Weeknight walkers - check the blog as sometimes the start times or locations change. Let me know if there is interest in establishing a different start time. Loblaws & Occasions at 7:00 pm until further notice.

To those with health challenges - please know our thoughts are with you.
Sunday - 1 or 2 options: Libby is walking 12K on Sunday with Ruth and maybe Arlene - location TBD. Please let her know if you are interested.
 
Helen would like company to join her for a 12K walk on Sunday morning – leaving at 8 am from her house. Plenty of parking in the lot across the street. Helen adds: "We’d love you to come for coffee or tea afterwards. I might even have a few treats. Email Helen for directions, if needed."

Announcement- K-W has a draw for an IPad Mini for all registered before April 1st. So far only Alexis has committed- Anyone else ???

It's all about the gear!
Join us Saturday at Tim's at 8:00 am.  It might be brisk, again! Remember, the company is worth it. For those training, the K’s are creeping up. Good Life Racers distance is 16K and KW is 14K. Weekday distances are 8 and 5 for GoodLife and 6K both days for K-W. The rest are free to get out there for whatever distance pleases you. Just git 'er done!
 
Evening walkers: Monday at Loblaws and Wednesday at Occasions; at 7:00 pm. Please sign the blog so others know your plans. Longer days and milder weather will inspire us to get back to those regular those evenings walks.
